Toddlers

“Help me to help myself.”
- Maria Montessori

Following with the Montessori Philosophy, the Toddler program is designed to assist the child in becoming as independent in their daily activities as possible. Guided with compassion and understanding, the Toddler is encouraged to explore the five areas of the classroom:

  • Practical Life (daily life exercises)
  • Culture
  • Number work
  • Language and
  • Sensorial

Montessori's ToddlersThe child is allowed to move from each area, at will, satisfying their need for movement and stimulation.

It is anticipated that after their introductory year, they will continue their Montessori education in a multi-aged 3-6 years of age classroom. A full range of specialized Montessori apparatus is available to the children, within a beautiful environment specifically prepared to meet their needs.

Montessori's ToddlersMontessori recognizes in the child a natural curiosity and desire to learn; the Montessori materials awaken this desire and channel the child’s natural curiosity into a learning experience, which the child enjoys.

These didactic materials promote independence and are for the most part, self-correcting which allows children to progress at their own pace. Children who grasp concepts quickly are not held back and ones who need to take more time are not frustrated. The purpose of the material is to isolate a single concept and lead the child through a sequence of steps.
